Dials

hand painted dials created by our local artistThere are three main types of dials that we use - the Moon dial, the Brass dial and the Painted dial.

The hand painted dial is where the customer can have pictures of their favourite landscape, house, children, cherished pets, etc. reproduced on the dial. This would be specially commissioned by our local artist from photos, water colours, postcards and offers the customer the chance to have a unique clock.

The moonphase dial follows the twenty nine and a half day lunar cycle and has a silver chapter ring with Roman numerals on, with spandrels on the corners. There is a slot on the dial to change the chimes.

The traditional brass dial has the Latin words "Tempus Fugit" (time flies) at the top and the Silver Chapter ring with Roman numerals printed on it. The chimes are changed by using the brass rod inside the clock case.
